Some Informational Updates

Today has been very active on the project and the monthly meeting was held that brings all the players together to discuss progress.  I wanted to share some information that is random in nature but applies to the work so far and this week.  In no particular order:
  • I asked about the lights on the third floor that stay on all night.  This is a safety issue and is common practice with construction projects.  This will remain the case until the new lighting and ceilings are installed.
  • 81% of the materials demo'd so far have been recycled, a slide was shown showing the breakdown.
  • Much of the activity this week is focused around running the plumbing lines for the second and third floors.  Until further notice the book sale area will be closed and some pipes are unexpectedly going to be ran in through the reference office.
  • The work off the loading dock will take longer than originally projected.  The dock could be closed until the first week of April, FYI.
  • I've asked for the floors to be cleaned at the end of the week for when students return.  And if you see an area not being covered for dust properly, please let me know.
Not directly related to the larger project, but taking advantage of spring break is the new reference desk set-up, which will occur on Friday, FYI.

Again, thanks for your patience this week, hopefully we'll get the big stuff behind us soon.

Mike
